Lumen Terms of Use

Welcome to Lumen, a desktop application provided by Northland Creative Wonders, LLC (“NCW,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lumen application (“Lumen” or “the App”).
By installing or using Lumen, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. What Lumen Does
Lumen is a desktop software tool designed for tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) players and game masters. It includes:
- A customizable digital GM screen
- An image display and sharing tool for in-game use
- A beat mapping system for scene and story planning
Lumen runs locally on your device. You are not required to create an account or connect to the internet to use core features.
2. Who May Use the App
You must be at least 13 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use Lumen. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the capacity to enter into a legally binding agreement.
3. User Content and Privacy
Lumen allows you to upload and organize your own images and beat maps. This content is stored **locally** on your device. We do not collect, view, or transmit your content to our servers or to third parties.
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring that your content complies with applicable laws
- Not using Lumen to store or organize any unlawful, harmful, or abusive material

4. License and Ownership
NCW grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Lumen on your personal or work devices for subject to these Terms.
You may not:
- Copy, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Use the App for any illegal purpose or to infringe the rights of others
All intellectual property rights in the App, including software, design, and branding, are owned by NCW Creative Wonders, LLC.
5. In-App Purchases and Refunds
Lumen may offer optional features or content for purchase. All sales are final **unless your local laws require otherwise**.
If you live in the EU, you have a 14-day “cooling-off” period under the Consumer Rights Directive for digital purchases, unless you choose to waive that right at the time of purchase.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at support@ncwonder.us. We will respond within 14 days.
6. Updates and Support
We may issue updates to improve functionality or fix bugs. These updates may be installed automatically or manually, depending on your system preferences.

7. Limitations of Liability
To the extent allowed by law:
- Lumen is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, or data issues arising from your use of the App
- Your use of Lumen is at your own risk
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights under the laws of your country, province, or state.
8. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the **Commonwealth of Massachusetts**, USA.
Where permitted by law, any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved through **binding arbitration or small claims court**, at your option. You may also retain all rights under your local consumer protection laws.
You may opt out of binding arbitration by sending written notice within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms.
9. Export Compliance
You agree not to use or export the App in violation of U.S. export laws and regulations. You also agree not to use the App in any country or by any person prohibited under applicable sanctions.

11. Your Rights (EU, UK, Canada)
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Request a refund under consumer protection laws

- Withdraw consent at any time

12. Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and NCW Creative Wonders, LLC concerning your use of Lumen. They do not override any statutory rights or reasonable expectations based on our marketing.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or our website. The latest version will always be available at https://lumenscreen.app/lumen-terms-of-use.
Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
